Universities Australia's members have confirmed the reappointment of four Directors to the Board.
At today's Annual General Meeting, members re-elected:
- Professor Attila Brungs (Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of New South Wales)
- Professor Renée Leon PSM (Vice-Chancellor and President of Charles Sturt University)
- Professor Adam Shoemaker (Vice-Chancellor and President of Victoria University)
- Professor Zlatko Skrbis (Vice-Chancellor and President of Australian Catholic University)
All four directors were reappointed for further two-year terms, effective immediately.
Universities Australia Chair Professor Carolyn Evans welcomed the reappointments.
"Universities are central to Australia's future workforce, research capability and economic success," Professor Evans said.
"Ensuring Universities Australia has a strong and experienced Board is critical to advancing that mission.
"The reappointment of Attila, Renée, Adam and Zlatko provides important continuity at a time of significant policy reform and change across higher education.
"Each has made a valuable contribution to the Board and brings a wealth of leadership experience, strategic insight and commitment to the success of Australia's universities.
