Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle Alice Springs

Five youths are assisting police with enquiries following an incident of erratic and dangerous driving in the Alice Springs CBD this morning.

It will be alleged police received several reports from members of the public in regards to the erratic and dangerous driving of a gold coloured Ford Falcon around 7am, Northern Territory Police say.

The vehicle, which was allegedly reported stolen from a family member, stopped in the Gillen area and four of the occupants fled on foot and were subsequently apprehended by police.

The driver drove off, but was located hiding in the scrubland in the Sadadeen area.

Five females aged 13, 13, 15, 16 and 17 years-old are currently assisting police with their enquiries.

Police would like to thank the public who assisted in reporting the vehicles’ whereabouts throughout the morning.
