Unlawful use of a motor vehicle and stealing charges in Brisbane, QLD

A group of teenage boys have been charged with driving an allegedly stolen vehicle and burglary offences in Brisbane, Queensland Police say.

Around 4.38am, it will be alleged the driver of a Ford Laser failed to stop for police on Bannocburn Crescent, Parkinson.

The vehicle continued travelling on the wrong side of the road before driving over a roundabout and towards an oncoming vehicle.

Police followed the vehicle where they observed it to slow and one of the occupants jumped from the vehicle as it came to a stop.

It will be alleged four of the occupants fled on foot while a rear seat passenger was arrested by police at the scene.

All four were located nearby and taken into custody.

A 16-year-old Warner boy has been charged with one count each of enter dwelling with intent by break, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle for committing indictable offence, two counts of burglary and commit indictable offence, and three counts of receiving tainted property.

A 15-year-old Inala boy has been charged with one count each of enter dwelling with intent by break, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle for committing indictable offence, burglary and commit indictable offence, and two counts of receiving tainted property.

Three other teens – a 15-year-old boy from Moorooka and two 16-year-old boys, one from Carseldine and the other Acacia Ridge – have been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

All will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justices Act 1992.

The vehicle – which had been stolen after a Kangaroo Point address was broken into earlier this week – has been seized for forensic examinations.

Police investigations are continuing.
