Unlicensed driver arrested at Hillcrest, South Australia

A driver was arrested after failing to stop for police at Hillcrest overnight.

Police pulled over a vehicle at Hillcrest about 2.15am on Sunday 25 November. The silver Ford sedan initially stopped, but took off as police approached the car. It took off along Hampton Drive and was pursued through the back streets of Hillcrest before police lost sight of the car.

The car was located parked in Grenville Avenue about 2.30am and Police Dog Marley tracked down the driver, walking with his female passenger, their baby and dog a short distance away.

The 31-year-old Hillcrest man was arrested and charged with drive to evade police and drive unlicensed. He was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 9 January.

The car was impounded for 28 days.
