The Council holds a briefing this morning on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question.
Ramiz Alakbarov, Deputy Special Coordinator and Resident Coordinator at the Office of the UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process; Joyce Msuya, Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator; Inger Ashing, Chief Executive Officer, Save the Children International; and Ilana Gritzewsk will brief the 15- member Council.
The delegations of the State of Palestine and Israel will also participate in the meeting.
