Under its agenda item "Reports of the Secretary-General on the Sudan and South Sudan", the Security Council meets to take action on a draft resolution to renew sanctions on South Sudan, including targeted assets freezes and travel bans, as well as an arms embargo until 31 May 2026, and the mandate of the Panel of Experts of the 2206 South Sudan Sanctions Committee until 1 July 2026.
The text of the draft resolution, submitted by the United States delegation and contained in document S/2025/331 , would be adopted as resolution 2781 (2025).
