UPDATE 2- Charges over deprivation of liberty incident Southport

A further two men have been charged over an incident last week where a 26-year-old Loganholme man was allegedly assaulted and held against his will in Southport, Queensland Police say.

Around 9.30am, Thursday January 5, police were called to a George Street unit after a man sought refuge there suffering from non-life threatening injuries.

It will be alleged the man had been held against his will and tortured at a nearby premises on George Street.

A 30-year-old Mermaid Waters man has been charged with torture, assault occasioning bodily harm, deprivation of liberty, armed robbery due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court today.

A 24-year-old Mermaid Waters man has been charged with torture, assault occasioning bodily harm, deprivation of liberty, armed robbery due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

The two men were charged in addition to a 24-year-old Parkwood man charged last week.

The men are all known to each other.

Police investigations are continuing.
