Northern Territory Police have suspended the search for a man reported as missing from the remote community of Ampilatwatja late last week.
Aerial and ground searches of the community and surrounding areas during the past four days are yet to locate Mr Morton.
"Extensive searches of the region surrounding Ampilatwatja have not yielded any further indication as to Mr Morton's whereabouts," said Incident controller, Senior Sergeant Michael Potts
"Sadly our extensive search efforts that have been dedicated to finding Harold will be returned to normal front line police duties, unless further information indicating Harold's location were to become available."
"At this stage due to the extreme weather conditions in the region, our hopes of finding Mr Morton alive and in good health are diminishing."
"As we have throughout the investigation, if anyone has information pertaining to Harold's whereabouts, we urge them to contact police."
Harold Morton, 44 was last seen at a family home on the morning of Friday February 1. Community members attempted to locate Harold throughout the day by searching the surrounding area, before reporting him as missing to police on Friday night. Harold is described as being of Aboriginal appearance, 175cms tall, with a slender build and a greying beard. At the time her went missing he was wearing blue jeans, a two tone green and blue polo shirt and runners.
