Update – Armed robberies, Runcorn and Yeronga

Four teenage boys have been charged with a number of serious offences following investigations into robberies at Runcorn, Yeronga and Salisbury this week, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged around 10.13pm on December 18, a man was at a service station on Fairfield Road, Yeronga when he was confronted by a group of boys who demanded his car keys.

A physical altercation then occurred when one of the group allegedly produced a knife and used it to cut the man on the neck.

Members of the public stepped in and the group fled on foot.

A short time later a man was reversing a red Toyota Yaris out of a driveway in Paragon Street when a group of boys allegedly surrounded the vehicle.

The group forced the man out of the driver’s seat before allegedly assaulting him and stealing the vehicle.

Around 12.30am on December 20, a man was confronted by a group of boys outside an address on Plum Street, Runcorn who allegedly demanded the keys to his blue BMW 320D convertible.

It will further be alleged he was threatened with a knife and firearm before his vehicle was stolen.

Four people were taken into custody this afternoon in relation to the robberies, a 15-year-old boy, 16-year-old boy and two boys aged 17.

A 17-year-old Acacia Ridge boy has been charged with three counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, two counts of armed robbery used personal violence and one count each of wounding, attempted robbery with violence, robbery, assault occasioning bodily harm and burglary and commit indictable offence.

A 16-year-old Bracken Ridge boy has been charged with three counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of wounding, attempted robbery, robbery, assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed in company, armed robbery in company, burglary and commit indictable offence.

A 17-year-old Bracken Ridge boy and a 15-year-old Glenvale boy have both been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of armed robbery in company with violence and burglary and commit indictable offence.
