Update – armed robbery – Southport

Police have charged a man after an armed robbery at a fast food outlet at Southport on November 8, 2016, Queensland Police say.

It is alleged during the incident a man armed with a knife and wearing a stocking over his head entered the Frank Street business and made demands for money from a female store employee.

No money was obtained by the offender from the store however it is alleged he did steal the female employee’s handbag before fleeing the scene.

No one was physically injured in the incident.

A 32-year-old man from Southport has been charged with armed robbery and enter premises with intent.

He is due to face Southport Magistrates Court today.
