Oropi Rd in Tauranga will remain closed overnight due to a large hole that has formed at the edge of the southbound lane.
Contractors are scheduled to repair the road tomorrow morning so it will still be closed for most part of the day.
Police advise motorists to use the diversion in place via Shane Rd and Oropi Gorge Rd.
