Update - Roads reopened after serious crash at Whitwarta, South Australia

Police are investigating a serious crash at Whitwarta, north-west of Balaklava.

Just before 3pm on Thursday 19 May, police and emergency services were called to the intersection of Templeton Road and St Station Road after a SsangYong ute collided with a caravan being towed by a Toyota 4WD.

The driver of the ute, a 33-year-old man from the Balaklava region, sustained serious injuries in the crash and was airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital. The man and woman in the Toyota were not injured.

Templeton Road was closed between Hudson Road just outside of Balaklava and the township of Whitwarta while police investigated the crash but has now been reopened.
