The Wool Road in Old Erowal Bay has re-opened after being closed for four hours this afternoon to allow for an engineering inspection and associated repair works.
Last night's heavy rain and high flows had eroded the embankment immediately adjacent to the temporary single lane road. Following a geotechnical inspection, reinforcement works were carried out to further strengthen the road.
The Wool Road was severely damaged in 2024 and is currently undergoing major rehabilitation works.
