A new development application for Johnson Property Group's landmark Trinity Point project is now on public exhibition.
Updated plans for the $463 million Morisset Park development would increase the number of hotel rooms from 153 to 172, reduce the number of residential apartments from 160 to 131 and increase building heights by up to three metres.
The increased building heights would allow for shallower basements across the site's six separate, curved towers.
Parking at the site would also change compared to the initial concept plan.
Parking spaces within the residential and hotel towers would be reduced from 614 to 491, but a separate modification has been lodged for a six-storey car park to maintain the same parking space ratio.
"The Concept Approval appointed Council as the delegated authority to assess and determine the development application," Lake Macquarie City Council Director Development Planning and Regulation David Antcliff said.
"This is one of the most significant proposed developments in our city's history, and it reflects the continued growth and appeal of Lake Macquarie."
"Developments of this scale can help support local jobs, attract visitors and contribute to our economic activity."
Plans will be on public exhibition until 4 September. Separate plans for the car park modification are expected to go on display in coming weeks.
