Updated Cross Border Direction 29 July 2021, South Australia

The Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel-Associated Direction No 34) (COVID-19) Direction 2021 has been revoked and replaced by the Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel-Associated Direction No 35) (COVID-19) Direction 2021. This Direction comes into effect at 12.01 am on Thursday, 29 July 2021.

Effective 12.01 am on Thursday, 29 July 2021:

  • Returning SA Residents and people relocating from NSW, ACT; and Overseas arrivals who have completed their 14 day quarantine in NSW or ACT are subject to level 6 requirements:
    • Cannot enter South Australia, however
    • Can apply for an exemption from SA Health which may approve travel to South Australia. Applications should be made through the Health Exemptions page.

Note: Applications for Cross Border Travel Registration without SA Health approval will automatically result in a declined application.

  • Commonwealth MPs and staff who have only been in ACT during the past 14 days are subject to level 4 requirements and must:
    • COVID-19 test on day 1, 5, & 13.
    • Self-quarantine for 14 days
    • Must wear a face mask (covering mouth and nose) at any time that they come into contact with the public for a period of 14 days after their arrival in SA.
  • Commonwealth MPs and staff who have been in NSW during the past 14 days are subject to level 5 requirements and must:
    • COVID-19 test on day 1, 5, & 13.
    • Quarantine as directed
    • Must wear a face mask (covering mouth and nose) at any time that they come into contact with the public for a period of 14 days after their arrival in SA

Note: Commonwealth MPs and staff are permitted to transit through a restricted zone airport other than in New South Wales.
