The Cross Border-Associated Direction has been updated in South Australia. The Cross Border-Associated Direction No 15 comes into effect at 7:45pm on Friday 28 May 2021.

The Cross Border-Associated Direction has been updated in South Australia. The Cross Border-Associated Direction No 15 comes into effect at 7:45pm on Friday 28 May 2021.

The following applies:

The State of Victoria- Victorian Restricted Zone A and B Arrivals

  • A Victorian Restricted Zone A Arrival is a person who has been in Victoria any time in the 14 days prior to their arrival (but not before 20 May 2021). The following restrictions apply to these people who have been in the Victoria:
    • People arriving in South Australia from Victoria after 7:45 pm on 28 May 2021- Level 6 requirements. Not Permitted to Enter South Australia.
    • Essential Travellers and Permitted Arrivals (SA residents, people relocating and people escaping domestic violence) entering South Australia having been in Victoria any time in the 14 days prior to arrival (but not before 20 May 2021) - Level 4 requirements. Covid-19 test within 24hrs and on days 5 & 13, must self-quarantine for 14 days and must wear a mask when in contact with the public for 14 days after their arrival.
  • A Victorian Restricted Zone B Arrival is a person who has been in Victoria (other than Greater Melbourne or City of Greater Bendigo) any time from 7pm 26 May to 7:45pm 28 May 2021.
    • People who have arrived in South Australia between 7pm 26 May and 7:45pm 28 May 2021- Level 3 requirements. They must have a COVID-19 test within 24hrs and on days 5 & 13, must self-quarantine until they receive a negative test result, not enter a high risk setting or attend an event with an approved COVID Management Plan or where there are more than 1000 people present for 14 days after their arrival in South Australia.

Transiting through the Airport

  • People are permitted to transit through the Melbourne Airport providing that their journey did not originate in Victoria. They must not leave the airport before boarding their flight and must wear a mask for the entire time they are in the airport and on the flight or when they come in contact with a member of the public.

Essential Travellers

  • Essential Travellers include national and state and security and governance, emergency service workers, commercial transport and freight services, remote or isolated workers, cross border community members, specialist workers in essential sectors, passing through, foreign diplomatic or consular staff.
  • Although Level 4 requirements are applied to Essential Travellers their restrictions vary from category to category. Please refer to the Direction or 'Entry into South Australia Table' for more information : LINK****
  • Cross Border Community Members are those people who live 70km either side of the SA/VIC border. These people have no restrictions unless they have been outside of the 70km Cross Border Corridor and further into the State of Victoria within the last 14 days (but not before 20 May 2021) where Level 4 modified requirements will then apply.

Please note that persons in South Australia subject to requirement imposed by Associated Direction No 12, No 13 and No 14 will continue to be bound by those requirements unless directed otherwise by an Authorised Officer.

This Direction should be read in conjunction with the Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel-General)(COVID-19) Direction 2021.

The Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel – Associated Direction No 14)(COVID-19) Direction 2021 has been revoked and replaced by the Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel – Associated Direction No 15)(COVID-19) Direction 2021.
