Three people have died following a crash in Sydney's south this morning.
About 12.25am (Saturday 23 May 2026), police attended a home on Second Avenue, Gymea Bay, following reports of a concern for welfare.
On arrival, officers attached to Sutherland Shire Police Area Command attempted to speak to a 42-year-old man; however, he left the scene in a white Audi before officers could speak to him.
A short time later, emergency services were called to the southbound lanes on Rocky Point Road, Sans Souci, after reports of a two vehicle crash.
Officers attached to St George and Sutherland Shire Police Area Commands attended and found that the Audi had rolled over a concrete barrier before landing on a blue Toyota sedan.
The 42-year-old driver of the Audi died at the scene.
The driver and passenger of the Toyota also died at the scene and are yet to be formally identified.
A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash has commenced with the assistance of specialist officers from the Crash Investigations Unit.
Localised traffic diversions are in place and motorists are urged to avoid the area.
