Upgrade Works Commence At Moama Cemetery

Murray River Council

Upgrade works at Moama Cemetery will commence on 27 January 2026, with construction expected to be completed within approximately six weeks, weather permitting.

The works will include the construction of a new lawn area, upgraded access roads, improvements to drainage and landscaping.

The works are aimed at improving accessibility, functionality and the overall presentation of the cemetery.

During the construction period, changed traffic conditions will be in place within the cemetery. Visitors are asked to follow all signage and traffic controls to ensure the safety of workers and the community.

Murray River Council Mayor, Cr John Harvie said the project reflects Council's commitment to maintaining important community spaces with care and respect.

"Our cemeteries are places of reflection and remembrance, and it's important they are safe, accessible and well maintained."

"We thank the community for their patience while these improvements are carried out and encourage visitors to take note of the temporary traffic changes during the works."

Council appreciates the community's understanding while these essential upgrades are completed.
