City of Mount Gambier has strengthened its road maintenance fleet with the addition of a 2026 Iveco Eurocargo ML160 street sweeper, improving the efficiency, safety and environmental performance of street cleaning services across the city.
Delivered in June, the improved street sweeper is already operating throughout Mount Gambier and replaces Council's existing unit. Fitted with the latest cleaning and safety technology, the vehicle will help crews maintain local roads, streets and public spaces more efficiently.
The Bucher V65T broomed body provides several operational improvements over the previous unit, including:
- A maximum sweeping width of 3600mm, reducing the number of passes required to clean an area.
- Greater cleaning power in a single pass, with the broom sweeper providing increased vacuum and suction capability compared with the previous regenerative sweeper.
- More than 0.5 cubic metres of additional working payload capacity, an increase of approximately 10 per cent. The additional capacity is expected to eliminate more than 80 disposal trips to Caroline Landfill each year.
- More than 50 per cent greater water carrying capacity, allowing longer periods between refills. Combined with atomising misting nozzles, the system is expected to reduce water use by up to 20 per cent.
The vehicle is powered by a Euro 6 diesel engine, providing improved environmental performance through reduced emissions while supporting the delivery of essential maintenance services across the city.
