Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III spoke with Ukrainian Minister of Defence Rustem Umerov today to discuss the latest developments on the battlefield and Ukraine's capability needs. Secretary Austin provided an update on U.S. security assistance, including the $275 million Presidential Drawdown Authority package announced on May 24. Secretary Austin and Minister Umerov also discussed the importance of continued strong support from allies and partners to help Ukraine continue to fight Russian aggression.
The two leaders pledged to remain in close contact.
