Today, Administrator Samantha Power met with International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Secretary General John Denton. Administrator Power thanked Secretary General Denton for ICC's commitment to open a Centre for Entrepreneurship in Moldova. Moldova is a focal country under USAID's Democracy Delivers initiative, which seeks to surge support to countries experiencing windows of democratic opportunity. They discussed areas of potential collaboration related to mobilizing additional resources for Democracy Delivers countries.
Administrator Power and Secretary General Denton also discussed opportunities to promote responsible business practices and mitigate corruption, and avenues to advance Ukraine's economic recovery. They acknowledged the critical role of private sector partners in achieving long-term, inclusive economic growth, sustainable development impact, and sovereign debt solutions; and agreed to explore further collaboration in these areas.
