USAID Chief Power Discusses Issues with Moldova's PM Recean

Today, Administrator Samantha Power spoke with Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Dorin Recean. Administrator Power commended Moldova on its continued steps to strengthen democracy and forge a European future, in light of the recent EU decision to formally begin EU accession negotiations with Moldova.

The Prime Minister and Administrator Power discussed Moldova's ongoing efforts to strengthen the country's economy and energy security, and the importance of attracting private sector investment. Administrator Power and Prime Minister Recean discussed ways to enhance Moldova's cybersecurity, and bolster critical anti-corruption and judicial reform efforts.

Administrator Power reaffirmed USAID's strong support for Moldova's reform agenda, economic growth, and EU integration efforts.
