USAID's Coleman, Uzbekistan Digital Minister Sign MOU

Today, Deputy Administrator Isobel Coleman met with Uzbekistan Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov to discuss the U.S.-Uzbekistan partnership, including ongoing work to support the IT sector, advance the digital economy, and foster private sector growth in Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the leaders signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Uzbekistan's Ministry of Digital Technologies. Through the MOU, USAID will work together with the Uzbekistan Government to support the implementation of the Digital Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy and help advance the IT and communications sectors in the country by engaging youth and women in IT, linking technical educational institutions, fostering private sector growth, and cooperating on other IT-related initiatives.

Since 1993, USAID has stood with the people of Uzbekistan and looks forward to our continued partnership to promote the economic and social development of Uzbekistan and its integration into the Central Asia region.
