Police have charged a 34-year-old man following an alleged hit and run traffic crash involving a stolen vehicle in Toowoomba City on August 3.
It will be alleged, around 8.10am, a rider on a scooter was hit by a stolen silver Toyota Camry outside a property on Devine Street, before the vehicle continued on without stopping to render assistance.
The rider, a 31-year-old Harristown man, was treated at the scene by emergency services for non-life-threatening injuries to his leg.
The vehicle was stolen just before 8am, after a 34-year-old man allegedly approached the vehicle and pulled the driver out while it was stopped outside a church on Neil Street.
The driver, a 78-year-old Merringandan woman, was not physically injured.
A 34-year-old Toowoomba man was taken into custody around 5.45pm at a South Toowoomba address and has since been charged with several offences including robbery, serious assault, unlawful use of motor vehicles and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
He is due to appear before Toowoomba Magistrates Court tomorrow, August 4.
Police continue to appeal for witnesses or anyone with any relevant dashcam or CCTV vision to come forward.
