Uzbekistan Independence Day 1 September

Department of State

On behalf of the United States of America, I extend warm congratulations to the people of Uzbekistan as they celebrate 35 years of independence on September 1.

The U.S.-Uzbekistan strategic partnership is producing meaningful results across a range of shared priorities. From critical minerals, energy, and infrastructure, to aviation, finance, and technology, American and Uzbek businesses are expanding commercial ties and creating new opportunities for our two countries. The United States welcomes Uzbekistan's tenure as the C5+1 Secretariat co-chair (2026-2027) and collaborative efforts to further strengthen regional security, connectivity, and economic growth.

As Uzbekistan celebrates this important milestone, the United States looks forward to building on this momentum and deepening a partnership that makes both our countries stronger, more secure, and more prosperous.
