Vacancy for an Antimicrobial Use, Stewardship and Stakeholder Engagement Manager

This is an exciting time to join the VMD's expanding Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Team.

This role is one of a series of vacancies we are recruiting and fits within the AMR policy and surveillance team as we deliver on the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs' (Defra) commitments in the UK's 5-year action plan for antimicrobial resistance supporting the UK's 20-year vision for AMR.

Role

Working in a team of three the post-holder will be responsible for working with stakeholders to improve systems for monitoring and benchmarking antibiotic use in animals. Also to drive improvements in antibiotic stewardship both nationally and internationally with a particular focus on farm animals.

The role will also support the collection of antibiotic sales data and the creation of the annual UK-VARSS report.

Skills

You should be able to demonstrate experience and a good knowledge of current animal health and farming issues particularly as they relate to the context of AMR.

Qualifications

A degree level qualification in a relevant scientific discipline such as veterinary/animal health or agriculture is essential.
