Vance AFB declares Health Protection Level A

Col. Corey Simmons, 71st Flying Training Wing commander, has directed Health Protection Condition (HPCON) Alpha for Vance Air Force Base in response to COVID-19. HPCON Alpha includes the following prevention and mitigation actions:

  • Review all health alerts
  • Review plans and preparations (i.e., training, stocks, and posture)
  • Routine hand washing
  • Cough/sneeze into sleeve
  • Healthy diet, exercise, vaccinations and education

HPCON A measures are mandatory for Vance AFB service members and are highly encouraged for Department of Defense civilian, contractor employees and family members. These measures are required to ensure the continued health and safety of local partners, civilians and families.

Everyone should remain informed regarding the symptoms of COVID-19 (see links below) and immediately contact the medical group if an individual develops symptoms, has close contact with a person known to have COVID-19 or has recently traveled from an affected area.
