NT Emergency Service members responded to multiple incidents on Monday afternoon following flash flooding across the Greater Darwin area.
Two vehicles were swept off the roadway after attempting to cross flooded areas, leaving one vehicle completely submerged and the second vehicle also partially submerged. All vehicle occupants were safely rescued and no injuries were reported as a result of the incidents.
Additionally, NTES members were called to three residences across Tumbling Waters, Berry Springs and Livingston, where occupants had become isolated by flood waters and required assistance. NTES members attended the locations and safely recovered the occupants from their homes.
Deputy Chief Officer Adam White said, "We would like to thank members of the public who also came to the aid of individuals who required assistance.
"It is also an important and timely reminder to those who enter flood waters, don't do it. The risk to your vehicle and, more importantly, your life is not worth it.
"If you see flooded roads, forget it. Don't be a floodwit."
If you require flood assistance, contact the NT Emergency Service on 132 500. In a life-threatening emergency, call 000.
