Vehicle and weapon offences in Petrie, QLD

Police have arrested and charged a man and a woman following an alleged chase in the Bray Park and Petrie areas yesterday evening, Queensland Police say.

A about 10pm, an alleged stolen black Audi was tracked by police helicopter throughout the north Brisbane area.

Police successfully deployed two tyre deflation devices along Samsonvale Road at Bray Park.

The vehicle continued onto Gympie Road, Petrie where it came to a stop near Wylie Park.

It is alleged a male occupant of the vehicle fled the scene on foot and entered North Pine River where he swam approximately one kilometre downstream before surrendering himself to police.

Police arrested a woman and allegedly located a firearm at the location of the Audi.

A 32-year-old Nanango man is charged with three counts of stealing and one count each of burglary, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of a weapon and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

The man will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on November 3.

A 25-year-old Murrumba Downs woman is charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and possession of dangerous drugs.

She will appear in the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on November 26.
