NT Government

Around 10am, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received reports of a Road Train crash on the Arnhem Highway, east of the Adelaide River Bridge.

The vehicle occupant was able to self-extricate before it subsequently caught fire.

NTFRS members from Humpty Doo responded immediately and escalated the response to include additional volunteer resources. Crews worked to contain the fire and promptly extinguished the blaze.

Emergency services remain on scene, and the Arnhem Highway is currently closed in both directions.

Members of the public are advised to avoid the area where possible and expect delays.
