Victoria has confirmed its 12-player squad for Round 4 of the 2025/26 Sheffield Shield season, with the team set to face traditional rivals New South Wales at the Sydney Cricket Ground from Monday, 10 November.
The fixture will mark another chapter in one of Australian cricket's great domestic rivalries, with both states competing for the Matthews-Hodge Trophy, awarded on the combined results of Sheffield Shield and One-Day Cup meetings across the season.
Victoria will be chasing their third consecutive win over NSW this summer, having won last month's Sheffield Shield and Dean Jones Trophy matches.
Victoria enters the contest in outstanding form, having started the season with three consecutive outright victories, underlining the group's belief and consistency across all facets of the game.
Fast bowler Scott Boland has been cleared to play and will bolster the attack, joining Todd Murphy and Fergus O'Neill, who continues to impress with the ball after a match-turning final day performance in the recent win over Tasmania.
Sam Elliott comes into the 12, replacing David Moody, following strong recent form in both the Second XI and Dean Jones Cup fixtures.
Victorian openers Campbell Kellaway and Marcus Harris also bring confidence into the contest after both posting centuries in the last Shield match against Tasmania.
Meanwhile, Mitch Perry will be rested for load management.
Victorian Men's Head Coach Chris Rogers said the team was eager to continue its strong start against quality opposition.
"There's a lot of belief in the group," Rogers said.
"To start the season with three outright wins is a credit to how connected and driven the players are. NSW always brings out the best in us; it's one of those classic fixtures that every player wants to be part of."
