Victorian Father of the Year 2019 announced - Drouin dad

The 2019 Victorian Father of the Year has today been announced at Melbourne Town Hall.

This year's winner is a young dadDrouin dad Chris with 22-month-year-old twins and a four-year-old son. Chris has showed incredible sacrifice when one of the twins, at age 1, was diagnosed with life-threatening leukemia.

Chris has gone above and beyond to be a dad and husband, from giving up his full-time job to care for his sick son, moving in with his in-laws to rent out their house and more.

Despite the hard times, Chris sees himself as lucky.

Previous Victorian Father of the Year winners:

Sandeep Jadhav (2018) and his family

Jason Stack (2017) and family

Since 1956, the Father’s Day Council of Victoria has named a Victorian Father of the Year, to celebrate and recognise the important role dads and father-figures have in their community and in the young people in their lives.

YMCA Victoria has supported this award since 2006, helping in the search far and wide for the state’s top dad. Think your dad or father-figure is the best? Nominations can be made through the online nomination form and are open to everyone.
