The Victorian Government is planning to fast-track better mobile coverage and broadband across the state through the $550 million Connecting Victoria program. Contributing to this survey will help rural and regional areas get the broadband services they desperately need.

As the COVID-19 response continues to show, strong mobile and broadband connections are vital for everyday life as education, work and community connections move online.

Bernie O'Sullivan, CEO, said this was an important opportunity for Macedon Ranges residents to let the Victorian Government know about their connectivity challenges and needs.

"Council encourages businesses and community members to let the Victorian Government know about their telecommunications experiences and improvements they would like to see.

"The more residents and businesses that complete this survey and tell the Victorian Government where telecommunications services are needed, the better," he said.

Engage.vic.gov.au/connecting-victoria has an interactive map which will allow you to pinpoint where you are experiencing a problem with mobile coverage or internet. You will also be asked to describe your digital connectivity problem.

The first locations to receive upgrades or new infrastructure are expected to be announced in late 2021.
