Victorians Feel Unsafe As Jacinta Allan Fails On Crime

Liberal Party Victoria
Victorians are living through a crime crisis, while Premier Jacinta Allan and the Labor Government fail to act.

Crime is rising and the government is missing in action. A Roy Morgan poll reveals that 72 per cent of Victorians believe crime is getting worse, a jump of 21 per cent since COVID.

Instead of addressing the problem, Labor has wasted $13 million on machete bins that have done nothing to keep violent criminals off the streets. Reactive policing has failed, and communities are paying the price.

The Liberals and Nationals have a plan to deliver proactive policing and safer communities through Jack's Law, and getting machetes and other dangerous weapons out of the hands of criminals before they commit violent crimes.

This year alone we have seen retail theft, knife attacks, home invasions and assaults spiralling out of control. Labor's reactive police model is broken, and instead of fixing it, it continues to double down.

Shadow Minister for Police, David Southwick, said: "Victorians are fed up with living in fear while Labor wastes millions on schemes like the machete bins.

"The Liberals and Nationals will restore community safety with Jack's Law to get machetes off our streets, Break Bail, Face Jail to keep repeat offenders behind bars, and youth crime prevention programs as part of our $100 million Safer Communities plan."
