Victorians want tax reform to ease cost pressures

Liberal Party Victoria

A week after the launch of the Liberals and Nationals' 'Making Victoria's Tax System Work' discussion paper, more than 100 submissions have already been received.

Victorians are telling us the tax system punishes rather than encourages, is unfair, and adds unnecessary costs to businesses, families, households and community groups.

Victorians are telling us they're paying too much tax, creativity and investment are being stifled, jobs are going elsewhere and Victoria's economy is weaker for the nearly 50 new or increased taxes introduced by the Andrews Government.

Our discussion paper is aimed at reforming Victoria's tax system and easing the burden on singles, families and businesses and encouraging private sector investment and growth.

We want to hear from all Victorians on how being hit with tax after tax is creating an unsustainable environment and what they think needs to be done to fix it.

All submissions will contribute to the Liberals and Nationals Coalition economic reform agenda, to be released in the lead up to the 2026 Victorian State Election.

All Victorians are encouraged to submit their views and ideas by 31 October 2023 atwww.BetterTaxSystem.com.au
