Officers from the VIPER Taskforce yesterday arrested two people after locating a clandestine laboratory during a routine Firearm Prohibition Order (FPO) compliance search in Kinglake.
Police attended the address at 10.30am on Sunday, 21 December and upon entry, located glassware, what appears to be methylamphetamine, hypophosphorous acid and a substance that was crystalising in a jug.
A 56-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman were taken into custody and detectives from the Clandestine Laboratory Squad deployed to the scene.
The man was charged with possess methylamphetamine.
He will appear at court at a later date.
The woman was arrested for possession of methylamphetamine and is expected to be charged on summons.
