Visitor information centre open for long weekend

While many of our tourist-based services are slowly coming back on-line following COVID-19 shutdowns, there will be no shortage of promoting Mitchell Shire this Queen's Birthday long weekend with Mitchell Shire Council's Visitor Information Centre re-opening its doors.

From Thursday June 4 through until Monday June 8, visitors to our region will have access to friendly faces and the full range of merchandise and tourist information available at the centre located at 47 Emily Street, Seymour.

All visitor servicing will adhere to the guidelines of social distancing to keep our visitors and volunteers safe, and our opening hours will be from 10am to 3pm to support those safety standards.

The Visitor Service Ambassadors are excited by the news and Council will monitor the success of the weekend and look to further extend opening across winter. It is planned to have the centre open Fridays to Sundays on most weekends, with safety always at front of mind.

For all those "locals" who have families and friends looking for an escape over the long weekend, we would like to say g'day at the visitor centre and show them all what is great about Mitchell Shire.
