Local organisations are being encouraged showcase the important services they offer the community at this year's Volunteer Expo.
The Expo will be held at the Civic Centre on May 16, and will bring together a diverse range of service providers, community groups, and not-for-profit organisations that rely on volunteers to deliver essential programs and services.
The event aims to highlight the many ways people can get involved, while helping organisations recruit new volunteers and raise awareness of their work.
Mayor Tom Kennedy said the Expo would provide a valuable platform for both organisations and residents.
"Volunteering plays such a huge part in of our community. It brings people together and helps deliver services that might not otherwise be possible," he said.
"From supporting vulnerable residents to protecting our environment and running local events, volunteer groups and their members make an incredible difference to Broken Hill."
The Expo will give community members the chance to meet face-to-face with organisations, learn about available roles, and find opportunities that match their interests, skills, and availability.
"This is a fantastic opportunity for organisations to share what they do, celebrate their volunteers, and inspire others to get involved," said Mayor Kennedy.
15 providers have already confirmed attendance, however more stalls are available for further nominations. Service providers interested in hosting a stall are encouraged to register their interest via this link: https://www.brokenhill.nsw.gov.au/Council/Forms/Volunteer-Expo-Registration-Form
