A Walkerville man's dreamy $1 million Weekday Windfall win has turned an unusual late‑night ticket check into a blissfully peaceful night's sleep followed by a celebratory gym session.
The Adelaide resident held one of the two division one winning entries nationally in Weekday Windfall draw 4699, drawn Wednesday 6 May 2026 and pocketed a clean $1 million.
Despite being a regular player, the winner said he wouldn't normally check his ticket straight after the draw, but something prompted him to look last night.
"Thank you! I discovered the win late last night. For some reason I checked my account after the draw, which I normally don't do," he said.
"I got a very good night's sleep after that. I still think it hasn't hit me properly.
"I've got to say it's taken a lot of years. I'd say I've been playing since lotteries started.
"One million dollars in the bank sounds pretty alright.
"It's quite funny, you give it a go but you never really expect to win.
"All I have planned for today is to go to the gym, so I'll be able to let the win sink in."
When asked how he planned to use his newfound fortune, the winning man thought of his beloved children first.
"I imagine it'll mostly go to the kids, but I'll think of something I can do for myself too," he said.
"Thank you very much!"
His winning marked System 7 entry was purchased via The Lott app - the official home of Australia's lotteries.
