Wallabi Coastcare Group completes beach access

MidCoast Council

Wallabi Coastcare Group worked with MidCoast Council to complete a project last week to improve the beach access at North Wallabi Beach.

MidCoast Council constructed a 65 metre concrete pathway, replacing the dirt track that existed before.

The new path not only provides a more formal access to North Wallabi beach but will allow for the regeneration of native coastal vegetation to the site, helping to reduce erosion and trampling of the vegetation.

Wallabi Coastcare finished the job last week, planting hundreds of native plants and trees along the access way and enjoyed a well-deserved cuppa and rest afterwards.

Dedicated volunteer coastcare groups make a positive difference to our coastal communities with numerous works to improve accesses, walking trails and protect coastal environments.

With 20 active members, Wallabi Coastcare, along with other coastcare groups on the MidCoast, welcomes new volunteers.
