The Wallan community is one step closer to enjoying the upgraded Wallan Central Cycle and Nature Trail, with significant progress made on the project.
The works on the $1.02 million project, which are made possible thanks to $800,000 from the Victorian Government and $220,000 from Council, aim to deliver a safer, more accessible, and engaging trail that connects key destinations such as schools, parks, and the Wallan town centre.
Recent works have seen the learn-to-ride areas completed, with both hardscaping and softscaping now in place and awaiting final planting.
The nature trail circuit track is also complete, with the majority of play equipment installed.
- Remaining works to be completed over the coming weeks include:
- Planting of tube stock and trees
- Establishment of grass areas
- Completion of the drainage outlet for the nature trail
- Installation of entrance signage and drinking fountains
- Installation of the ropes course
These final tasks are on track to be finished by mid-June. Once complete, the enhanced trail will provide a safer, more connected space that encourages active transport, outdoor play, and community connection.
