Police have charged a man with 24 offences - including four outstanding warrants - after a pursuit at Coonabarabran.
The arrest follows a public appeal for assistance by officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District to locate a man wanted for multiple alleged assault, break and enter, and assault-related offences in the Coonamble area.
Following inquiries, officers saw a stolen white Toyota Hilux, allegedly being driven by the man, on the Newell Highway, Coonabarabran, about 7.30am yesterday (Friday 1 January 2021).
Police will allege the driver failed to stop and officers commenced a pursuit.
They followed the car for a short distance before terminating the pursuit due to safety concerns.
About 4pm the same day, officers sighted the vehicle abandoned on Saleyards Road, Coonabarabran.
Following inquiries, police attended a home on Edwards Street, Coonabarabran, and arrested a 30-year-old man.
He was taken to Coonabarabran Police Station where he was charged with 24 offences
• Two counts of aggravated break and enter with intent – knowing person there
• Two counts of stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm
• Two counts of use etc offensive weapon with intent to commit indictable offence
• Four counts of take and drive conveyance without consent of owner
• Goods in personal custody suspected being stolen
• Predatory driving
• Three counts of enter enclosed land without lawful excuse
• Larceny
• Possess implements to enter/drive conveyance
• Destroy or damage property
• Receiving
• Enter building/land with intent to commit indictable offence
• Four arrest warrants.

The man was refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court today (Saturday 2 January 2021).
