A man has appeared in court today charged with domestic-violence and assault related offences.
Last month (Friday 8 September 2021), officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command commenced an investigation after reports of a domestic-related incident between a man and a woman.
Police will allege a man assaulted a woman in Manly earlier that day, before a man nearby attempted to intervene and was also assaulted by the man on Rolfe Street.
With assistance from the North West Metropolitan Region Domestic Violence High Risk Offenders Team, including a public appeal for assistance, a 33-year-old man was arrested at a unit on Parramatta Road, Petersham, about 12.30pm yesterday (Thursday 14 October 2021).
The man was taken to Newtown Police Station and charged with two counts of contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO (domestic), assault occasioning actual bodily harm and two counts of common assault.
He was refused police bail and appeared before Newtown Local Court today (Friday 15 October 2021), where he was formally refused bail to appear at Manly Local Court on 19 October 2021.
