Wanted woman charged with firearms and weapon offences - South Coogee

A woman who was wanted on an outstanding warrant has been charged after 200 items, including firearms and weapons, were allegedly seized from a unit in Sydney's east earlier this year.

On Thursday 12 March 2020, officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command attended a unit on Wauhope Crescent, after reports firearms and weapons were allegedly found at the location.

A search warrant was executed at the unit, where police located 12 rifles, two double-barrelled shotguns, nine handguns, six crossbows, five paintball guns, 82 knives, 14 extendable batons, three cans of pepper spray, 11 handcuffs, four ballistic vests, firearm parts, ammunition, nunchakus, and knuckle dusters.

The items were seized to undergo forensic examination.

Following extensive inquiries and a public appeal, a 33-year-old woman was arrested at Waverley Police Station about 10.15am today (Wednesday 13 May 2020).

The woman was charged with the outstanding warrant for 19 offences including two counts of possess unregistered firearm without a license and 17 counts of possess or use a prohibited weapon without a permit.

She was refused bail to appear before Waverley Local Court today (Wednesday 13 May 2020).
