Water Police investigate theft of rare boat from Rose Bay

The Marine Area Command is appealing for information after a rare $400,000 Rigid-Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB) was stolen from Rose Bay Marina earlier this month.

About 9pm on Sunday 9 May 2021, two unknown men untied the Ribco Seafarer 36 and towed it to a nearby boat ramp, where it was loaded onto a trailer attached to a dual cab utility.

The vehicle is described as a white Volkswagen Amarok, with an aluminium tray and black roof racks. It was last seen travelling north on New South Head Road, Rose Bay.

As police continue to investigate the theft, they're appealing for anyone with information to contact the Marine Area Command on (02) 9320 7499 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The RHIB, which belongs to a charter company, is 36-feet long, with a black hull, white interiors and registration AIS241N.

Police understand there are only a few of its kind in Australia.
