At the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, we honour and remember all those who have served our country in times of conflict.
107 years ago, 11 November 1918 marked the end of a conflict that had thrown the world into turmoil and claimed the lives of many thousands of young Australians.
On the same day every year since then, we honour those who serve and those who gave their lives for our country in war.

Peter will be in conversation with another bestselling author, Michael Veitch, who is also well known as an actor and former ABC television and radio presenter.
Head over to Brighton Town Hall on Monday 12 November from 6pm to 7pm for the session. Registrations essential.
The Ode
Written in the early days of World War I, The Ode comes from For the Fallen, a poem by the English poet and writer Laurence Binyon.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning.
We will remember them.
Green Point
Green Point at the end of South Road is home to the Brighton War Memorial, a heritage listed Cenotaph.
The site was completed in 1927 as a memorial to locals who lost their lives during World War I. In recent times it has taken on a broader meaning to commemorate the sacrifice and service by Australians in other wars, conflicts and peacekeeping campaigns.
We will remember you.
Lest we forget.
