Two men and a teenage boy have been charged after police arrested five people over an alleged affray in Orange this week.
About 5pm on Tuesday 9 September 2025, police were called to Oxley Place, Orange, following reports a group of people were involved in an alleged affray.
Officers attached to Central West Police District were told two groups of people – believed to be about seven in total – were allegedly armed with a firearm and knives during a confrontation on the street.
A crime scene was established, and police commenced an investigation into the incident.
Following inquiries, on Wednesday 10 September 2025 police arrested two men – aged 19 and 29 – and three teenage boys – two aged 16 and one aged 17 – in the Orange area.
The 19-year-old man and the 17-year-old boy were charged with use offensive weapon with intent to commit indictable offence, affray, and have custody of an offensive implement in a public place.
The man was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Court 4 today (Thursday 11 September 2025).
The boy was granted conditional bail to appear at Children's Court on Monday 22 September 2025.
The 29-year-old man was charged with affray.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at Orange Local Court on Thursday 18 September 2025.
The two 16-year-old boys will be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.
About 3.45pm on the same day police searched a home on Seiben Drive, Orange, and allegedly located a firearm, ammunition and two knives which were seized for forensic examination.
