Websters Road reconstruction

Manningham Council

We're upgrading Websters Road as part of the 2023/24 Capital Works Program. Construction is scheduled to begin in late June 2023 and will take around four months to complete.

The works will include:

  • Reconstruction of Websters Road between Newmans Road and Sunny Rise, including installation of kerb and channel and a drainage system
  • Installation of a footpath on the southern side of the road reserve, from Newmans Road to Blackburn Road

This upgrade will improve community safety by providing a designated pathway for pedestrians, reducing the risk of flooding, widening the road to a safer standard, and extending the road's lifespan to serve the community effectively into the future.

Websters Road closure

Websters Road between Newmans Road and Sunny Rise will be closed to through traffic during construction and a detour will be in place. We ask that motorists allow an extra five minutes of travel time for the detour.

While road closures and detours will be in place for this area, emergency service vehicle and local access will be maintained at all times.

Will the works affect access to local driveways?

If you live within the roadworks area, you may experience some delays when accessing your driveway at times. If your access will be affected, our contractor will contact you directly and well in advance to provide notice.

We'll also have traffic controllers onsite at crucial points of the project to assist you in entering and exiting your property.

Emergency vehicles will always have priority access throughout the construction period.

Will these works affect my bin collection?

No, your bins will be collected as usual on Fridays. Please continue to place your bins out for collection on Thursday night to ensure a smooth pick-up. In the unlikely event that a scheduling change is required, we will let you know in advance.

Will the works be noisy?

You may notice some construction noise and safety beepers while we safely complete the works.
