West Ballina Fugitive Arrested on Outstanding Warrants

A man who was wanted on outstanding warrants has been arrested on the Far North Coast.

The 27-year-old man was wanted on two outstanding warrants for traffic and stealing-related offences.

About 12.15am on Sunday 31 March 2024, police sighted a car – which had been reported stolen from an address in Ballina – on River Street at West Ballina.

Officers from Richmond Police District attached to Operation Mongoose, followed the vehicle before arresting the driver at a service station on the Bruxner Highway, West Ballina.

He was taken to Ballina Police Station and charged with take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, drive licence cancelled, goods suspected stolen in/on premises, possess prohibited drug and possess/attempt to, prescribed restricted substance.

He was refused bail to appear before Lismore Bail Court today (Sunday 31 March 2024), where he was formally refused bail to appear Ballina Local Court on Thursday 4 April 2024
