Detectives from the Special Crimes Investigation Branch earlier today arrested a 37-year-old man from Adelaide's western suburbs for possession of aggravated child exploitation material and breach of bail, according to SA Police.
It will be alleged the children depicted in the material were under the age of 14 years.
The man has been refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday 8 September.
‘THIS IS CHILD EXPLOITATION, NOT ‘CHILD PORNOGRAPHY’
Use of the phrase ‘child pornography’ actually benefits child sex abusers:
* It indicates legitimacy and compliance on the part of the victim and therefore legality on the part of the abuser
* It conjures up images of children posing in ‘provocative’ positions, rather than suffering horrific abuse
Every photograph captures an actual situation where a child has been abused. This is not pornography.
Members of the public who have any information about people involved in child exploitation material are urged to call Crime stoppers on 1800 333 000.
